In between fall soccer season and spring soccer season, Natalie is now playing indoor soccer. I managed to capture a quick video of a couple minutes of her first game on December 13th with my phone, just for grins. Sorry, no editing, no titles, no music overdub. Just raw soccer, and the muffled voices of parents chatting… Oh, so Natalie’s #20, right defense in this case…

Natalie’s Fall soccer season is drawing to a close. Regular season games are actually over. Now it’s time for the tournaments. Well, in her age group they call them Jamborees. This weekend we head up to Sonoma for NorCal. That should be fun!
Anyway, I’ve posted all the photos for the season so far. Head on over to the gallery to check them out!

Natalie’s started her second season of soccer, but this year is much different than last. Last year was AYSO, easy, fun and not too serious. This year we’ve joined the SAYSO Gryphons, the San Andreas Youth Soccer Organization, a soccer club, a soccer academy. We’re gonna see if we can kick up the serious a notch, while maintaining the fun. And the easy? Well that went out the window as soon as Edie volunteered she and myself as the Team Manager for Natalie’s team (code-named 97 Girls White). Managing a club team is on the same order of magnitude as managing a multi-national corporation. But more on that later. The notable news is that Natalie’s first game of the season was not cancelled! Mother Nature relented long enough to allow the game against the MVLA Cobras to be played. Here are photos from that first game. Also photos from the scrimmage the week before with the Meno Park Strikers, here. Looks like we have an amazing spring season ahead of us. I wanna hear everybody shout “Go Gryphons!!”

On a windy Saturday morning… early, very early Saturday morning, the Iguanas matched up against the White Pandas. The Pandas were much younger and smaller, affording the Iguanas an opportunity to fine tune their offensive game.
Natalie scored her first soccer goal ever, and quickly followed it up wth another. We were all very excited. And especially exciting was the fact that today was the day we decided to shoot some video, and I happened to be filming in the right place at the right time to catch both goals. Here’s a quick clip of the first goal (a little bitta mash-up, sorry. I can’t help it!): Watch the movie: GOOOAALLLLL!!!!.

Exciting shots of Natalie’s second soccer game on Saturday. Natalie officially has soccer fever. This morning she shouted “I can’t wait until Saturday. I don’t want to practice anymore. I just want to play the game!”

Natalie made it to her first soccer game over the weekend. this was actually hte fourth game her team, The Green Iguanas, has played. We missed the first three due to vacations.
Natalie had a blast. She was constantly in the mix. Her team, though lacking in coordination, abounds in enthusiasm. The other team, the Blue Dolphins, had some strong attackers, but the Iguanas withstood many an assault and held the Dolphins to a 1-1 tie.
